Binance Smart Chain (BSC) is a blockchain network developed by Binance, one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges. It operates parallel to Binance Chain and offers smart contract functionality, which is not available on the original Binance Chain. BSC uses a consensus model known as Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA), which combines elements of Proof of Stake and Proof of Authority for faster and more efficient transactions. It is compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling developers to deploy Ethereum-based applications and cross-chain compatibility.
